FAQ 1. Introduction
Here you will find the most common questions about the introduction.
It all starts by contacting me via Instagram, Facebook, email or via the contact form of this website. We will then discuss whether you prefer to meet in person in Enschede, or whether you want to call (online). We agree on a time slot of 0.5-1 hour on a day and time that suits you best.
During this appointment I will answer all your questions so that you feel comfortable and well informed for your upcoming body portrait experience.
The current price for having your body portrayed starts from €345.
In most cases you will receive your portrait by post, this is only included in the price in the Netherlands. Other EU countries are generally around €16. For countries outside the EU the shipping costs are different and are checked individually on request.
Gift vouchers can be purchased both in print and digitally via email.

No photos or videos will be taken by me during the drawing process unless agreed in advance. With your written permission on the portrait right form, I take photos of the completed body portraits to show their diversity to the public. Agreeing with those photos is not required at all.
During the whole working process, the images are all marked with a number and only I know which number belongs to which name, so everything is completely anonymous.
If you choose to be part of the “collection” section and share some words with other people, I will only mention a single letter of your choice, your age and your country. If you still feel unsure about this piece of information, we can of course publish it anonymously to make you feel comfortable and safe.
FAQ 2. Process
This section covers the most common questions related to the process of portraying your body.
Does a body portrait appeal to you? Can you already see yourself or your partner hanging on the wall? Then let’s get started! Below is how I will achieve a beautiful result together with you.
- Contact me, ask all your questions and tell me your story.
- You pay the amount for your body portrait and send me the completed portrait rights form via email.
- You upload 1-2 photo(s) in a secure environment. Together we choose the most beautiful photo that suits you best!
- I check the photo and make a sketch with pencil. This concept sketch will be sent to you* for approval.
- If you agree, I will make the drawing with a pen.
- The portrait is ready to be shipped!
* I treat all information sent with extreme caution and confidentiality.
I make the portrait based on a photo. You can take this photo yourself. It can be a nude photo, but it can also be in lingerie. What you feel comfortable with. Taking a photo is often a bit out of your comfort zone, because we are often not used to being (almost) naked. That is precisely why this is such a powerful and beautiful moment in the process.
What should I take into account?
- The photo must have been taken in daylight. The presence of light is very important for an exciting play of shadow and lines.
- The photo must be sharp.
- The pose, visible body parts and the angle of the photo is up to you!

At the moment I only portray men together with a woman, as the main focus of The naked pencil is on portraying the beauty and diversity of the female body.
FAQ 3. Portrait
Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding the portrait itself.
This is completely up to you.
To create a collection that represents the diversity and beauty of different bodies, I want to take photos of as many finished portraits as possible, but it is of course your decision whether your portrait should be photographed or not.
If you agree, I will anonymously post the photos in the collection and on my social media sites so that other people can feel empowered when they see themselves in one or the other.
If you do not want your photos to be added to the collection, please let me know on the portrait rights form, which you will receive via email.
Both options are fine for me.
Depending on the workload, your portrait will be ready within 4 weeks. If you need it urgently, sometimes it can be done sooner. Just contact me.
We can then meet somewhere for a personal delivery or exchange information to have your portrait sent by post.
The portrait will be shipped in bubble wrap and in a cardboard mailing envelope. All this to ensure that it reaches you in the best possible state!
The portrait comes beautifully wrapped in wrapping paper with a handwritten thank you card. Track and trace is included in the shipment.
